My journey in the digitalization of accounting began in 2013, at a time when cloud accounting was still a novel concept for many businesses in Singapore. Convincing business owners of the advantages of storing financial data in the cloud was challenging, as concerns about security, internet reliability, and trust in automation loomed large.

However, I was confident that digital transformation was inevitable. The ability to access financial data anytime, automate processes, and collaborate remotely would revolutionize business finance management. I committed myself to guiding companies away from outdated, manual accounting practices toward cloud-based automation – a challenging but ultimately invaluable endeavour.

Leading the Charge in Cloud Accounting

Over the course of 3 years since I was committed in the endeavour, and being one of Singapore’s pioneering Xero Platinum Partners, I have:

• Onboarded 500 SMEs onto the Xero platform, ensuring they had the necessary tools and training to harness the power of cloud accounting.

• Streamlined accounting workflows, reducing manual errors and saving valuable time.

• Educated business owners and finance teams on how digital solutions could enhance efficiency and ensure compliance.

My efforts didn’t go unnoticed. In 2017, I was awarded “Xero Best Asia Partner Award”, a significant milestone that fueled my passion for promoting digital adoption. By then, businesses embracing cloud accounting were reaping substantial benefits, such as faster reconciliations, real-time insights, and simplified tax compliance.

The Moment That Made It All Worthwhile

Then came COVID-19.

As lockdowns were implemented, businesses that had resisted digitalization faced immense challenges. In contrast, those who had already adopted cloud-based accounting were able to seamlessly manage financials, payroll, and compliance from any location. They weren’t scrambling to adapt—they were thriving.

That experience confirmed for me that all those years advocating for digitalization had been worthwhile. What was once considered a “nice-to-have” had transformed into a vital necessity.

Why Triide? Why Now? 

After a decade of leading digital transformation efforts in Singapore, I am excited to take this experience and passion into the Asia Pacific region with Triide. Reflecting on my journey in digital accounting, I see Triide as the next step in my mission to foster digital transformation across the region. The timing feels right; we are witnessing a significant shift in the accounting landscape. While countries like Singapore and Hong Kong have embraced cloud-based solutions, many others still rely on outdated methods and manual processes. This presents an urgent need for change as businesses navigate efficiency challenges, regulatory requirements, and the pressures of a competitive global marketplace.

Triide represents an opportunity for me to continue my passion for digital accounting on a larger scale. The company is well-positioned to drive this evolution, leveraging regional expertise and strong technology partnerships.
